How to make milk flan
Pudín de leche is a traditional dessert that combines smooth egg cream with delicious liquid caramel. To make it, you'll need sugar, eggs, milk and condensed milk. The caramel is prepared by heating the sugar with a little water and then pouring it into the flan mold. The pudding mixture is poured over the caramel and cooked in the oven. After cooling, unmold and serve. Let's start with the ingredients!
Ingredients
- 120 grams of sugar
- 3 cups of water
- 6 medium eggs
- 500 milliliters of fresh milk
- 400 milliliters of condensed milk
- 1 cup vanilla essence (optional)
Method of preparation
- Start by preparing the caramel. In a pan on the stove, add the sugar and water. Let it cook without mixing until it takes on a golden color.
- Turn off the heat and pour the caramel into an oven-safe mold, distributing it throughout the base of the mold. Be careful with the hot caramel.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk and condensed milk. If desired, you can add the vanilla essence.
- Mix all the ingredients well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- Pour the flan mixture over the caramel in the mold. Cover the mold with aluminum foil.
- Prepare a bain marie by placing the pudding mold in an oven-safe container and adding water up to the middle of the mold.
- Roast at 200 degrees Celsius with heat up and down for about 50 minutes to an hour. Check the cooking by inserting a toothpick into the center of the pudding; if it comes out dry, it's done.
- Remove the foil and allow to cool completely before unmolding. Run a spatula around the edges of the mold to remove the pudding.
- Turn the mold over on a plate to unmold the pudding. The liquid caramel will spread over the pudding.
- Serve the pudín de leche in individual portions and enjoy.
